Si-Eun YOO is a patent attorney of our Engineering Group at Hanol Intellectual Property & Law. Mr. Yoo focuses his practice and expertise on intellectual property law. He advises established companies, major hospitals, major medical universities, and start-up ventures in a wide range of intellectual property matters, including the procurement and exploitation of intellectual property rights and the management of intellectual assets. Mr. Yoo regularly evaluates patent rights and renders opinions with respect to validity, infringement, freedom-to-operate issues, and design-around options.

 

Mr. Yoo has been involved in variety of litigations involving patents related to mechanical engineering, in both domestic and international forum. He had been involved in patent litigations in South Korea, United States, and Germany. He has developed and built both offensive and defensive litigation strategies with respect to patent infringement, patent invalidity, and other related issues. He also regularly prepares and prosecutes for both domestic and international patent applications. He also manages domestic and international patent portfolios. Mr. Yoo has written an article about patents, in year of 2005, for the Patent Attorney Association in Korea.

 

Mr. Yoo's very expansive areas of core technical competence include: mechanical devices, medical devices, electronics, semiconductors, telecom, computers & networking systems, software, e-commerce, bioinformatics, and business methods. Mr. Yoo has written a thesis about patents in year of 2005.
