Seong Kyoon KANG (Steven Kang), Patent Attorney, holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) from Oregon State University and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University. Dr. Kang previously served as a Principal Researcher at Hyundai Mobis, where he contributed to the development of industrial control devices (CNC, robots) and national research projects. Since obtaining his patent attorney qualification in 2004, Dr. Kang has leveraged his extensive academic and industrial experience to provide specialized intellectual property legal services and support to domestic and international clients across various industries.

Dr. Kang possesses extensive experience in domestic and international patent prosecution, Office Action responses, patent design-around strategies, and patent consulting related to mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, medical devices, industrial control devices, CNC machine tools, robots, home appliances, automobiles, computer and software systems, real-time operating systems, e-commerce, and artificial intelligence. He is also a co-author of “Theory and Design of CNC Systems, Springer Series in Advanced Manufacturing, Springer-Verlag, 2008”.
